Tru's 2nd Semester of Midwifery School

Happy Woman's Day mothers, sisters, daughters and friends!! I love and honor each and every one of you and appreciate the gifts of wisdom, love and support over my years of growth & development. Winter semester has been quite different from Fall semester, in a challenging way. But hey, without a challenge there's no growth. I've really faced having to re-balance my schedule, schooling, personal time, and family time quite often. The shifting never stopped this season :) And, I'm now finally getting settled into my new home, a beautiful budding relationship, a new level of understanding with my boys, and an appreciation for my school teachers. I'm doing great with school work and will kiss this semester goodbye with a final on April 15th. In other awesome news, I'll be traveling out of the country next week to work with a midwife and non-profit birthing organization focused on increasing healthier birthing outcomes. I'm super excited and can't wait to learn more about birth in other countries. This is a huge step in my goal to become an international midwife. Tanzania, Africa is the next country on my list!

Also Community Birth & Wellness Center is coming along great! We're in our 3rd month of Prenatal Thursdays and have two mamas due in the next few weeks! We've been featured on Iheart Radio, the St. Louis American Newspaper, have spoken at numerous events and will be at the African Arts Festival this year in Forest Park. We're in the process of doing a promotional video and documentary to normalize midwifery care in St. Louis! The most exciting things is that we have a list of buildings that we're looking at for our permanent location. So yes I've been busy hosting prenatal Thursdays out of my home office but it's totally worth it!

Thanks to all of my supporters! I've purchased my first fetal Doppler, Anatomy Book, and have now entered into my assistant phase in my clinical's for school. What a great way to start Spring :)
